Patient Groups

The East Midlands Cancer Alliance works with patient groups and cancer charities to forward its aims to address variations in treatment and care provision to ensure equal access and ensure best practice.

Local Support Groups

Maggie's Centre Nottingham - Support groups are are led by a psychologist or cancer support specialist and focus on the emotional impact of cancer.

The East Midlands Cancer Alliance Centre for Psychosocial Health - Offers psychological videotherapy to people living with cancer, and psychological skills training/supervision to NHS cancer care staff across the East Midlands.

East Midlands Kidney Cancer Support Group - In partnership with NHS Lincolnshire and Macmillan Cancer Support, warmly welcomes kidney cancer patients at any stage of their journey, along with carers, family members, and friends.

East Midlands Sarcoma Support Group - Offers anyone affected by sarcoma to share experiences, help, advise and support one another through a safe, confidential and friendly environment.

Healthwatch

Health Watch are a national independent organisation that champions people who use health and social care services, particularly those who find it hardest to be heard.  Their role is to find out what matters and to help make sure the public’s views are used to shape the support needed.

Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. It also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK.

Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research UK is a cancer research and awareness charity in the United Kingdom and Isle of Man, formed on 4 February 2002 by the merger of The Cancer Research Campaign and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. Its aim is to reduce the number of deaths from cancer.
