Acknowledgements

Like most clinical service developments, the implementation of the East Breast Pain Pathway is the result of contributions from numerous individuals and organisations over a sustained period of time.

We would like to acknowledge and thank:

Roche Products Limited

The implementation of the EMBPP including both the East Midlands and national evaluations and reports have been facilitated through a collaborative agreement between Roche Products Limited and HITS (Health Improvement Transformation Strategies), a Community Interest Company: it has allowed the implementation to be rolled out at pace and scale and we have benefited from their experience in improving healthcare. Without the support of Roche, the implementation of this transformation pathway would have happened, but without question at a slower pace. We are therefore grateful to Roche for its support and the impetus it brought to the implementation programme.

Association of Breast Surgery (ABS)

pdfABS President Statement

It has been supportive both in the development and subsequent evaluation of the EMBPP. It endorsed both the Pathway for management and investigation of breast pain and The East Midlands Breast Pain Pathway.  For the ‘national’ audit of implementation ABS was represented on the Steering Committee by the President, Miss Leena Chagla and Vice President, Miss Sarah Downey, and on the Operational Committee by Miss Carol-Ann Courtney, East Midlands ABS Representative and a member of the Clinical Practice and Standards Committee. We are grateful to them for their support and guidance throughout the evaluation.

Emily Griffiths

Previously Head of Information Governance (IG) and Data Protection Officer at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust for her invaluable advice and support in preparing the required IG bundle (Data Protection Impact Assessments and Data Processing Agreements) to enable secure data sharing between EDGE Health and services submitting data for the East Midlands and ‘National’ audits.

Members of the Steering and Operational Committees

For both the East Midlands and ‘National’ audits.

Joined Up Care Derbyshire (JUCD)

Which supported the first population-based Community Breast Pain Clinics across Derbyshire. and the pilot team across Primary and Secondary Care, clinicians and managers, who made this a successful implementation.

The East Midlands Academic Health Science Network

(Now known as ‘Health Innovation East Midlands’) supported the project at its very early inception in 2015 and then again for the East Midlands audit.

Breast Services

Breast services that have implemented the EMBPP and introduced Community Breast Pain Clinics in their locality, assisted in the evaluations and contributed their ideas for the further implementation and promotion of the pathway.
