Data collected at the clinic visit

Patients were given the questionnaire to complete at the end of their clinic visit, which they posted anonymously into a collection box at the clinic.

Questionnaire:

  • Did your GP advise you that breast pain is not a symptom of breast cancer?
  • How many times have you seen your GP for this episode of breast pain prior to being referred to this clinic?
  • Have you had any previous episodes of breast pain that required you to see your GP?
  • Did you find the breast pain advice you received helpful?
  • Do you feel reassured by the breast pain advice you received?
  • Did you find the information regarding your personal risk of developing breast cancer helpful?
  • How easy was it to find the breast information in your family?
  • Please rate how you found the Family History Questionnaire to complete?
  • How likely are you to recommend this service to friends and family if they had troublesome breast pain?

Free text comments:

  • How did you feel before coming to the breast pain clinic?
  • How did you feel after seeing the advanced nurse practitioner?
  • Please tell us what was good about your visit, suggest anything that could improve the service or add any further comments.

“The responses were then input to a spreadsheet to produce the PROMS dashboard. The data could also be collected electronically by a survey and similar dashboard outputs produced.”
